1987 was the first and only time the Mets featured the script New York on their road jerseys. It was also last time Mets fans weren't saying "Next Year". We were riding high as the reigning World Series champs, and we thought a dynasty was just beginning. Little did we know we'd have at least thirty-four more next years to look forward to.
